Copper Busbar Casting Solutions
Busbar Manufacturing — From Melt to Finished Profile
From Flat Bar to Busbar
Mivo's upward continuous casting line produces oxygen-free copper flat bar profiles — the feedstock that customers cut, punch, drill, and bend into finished busbars. A busbar is not a casting line output; it is what your fabrication team makes from the flat bar. The quality of that flat bar directly determines how the finished busbar performs in service.
Electrical performance is primarily determined by oxygen content (low oxygen → low resistivity) and the absence of porosity or segregation inclusions. Mivo's patented crystallizer geometry also produces equiaxed grain structure with uniform grain size — which improves mechanical consistency, surface finish, and fabrication yield: fewer cracks on punching, cleaner holes on drilling, tighter radii on bending.
Key Benefits
- Oxygen-free copper for minimum resistivity — upward casting eliminates air contact with the melt
- Continuous casting eliminates porosity and segregation
- Custom cross-section for your busbar standard
- Reduced scrap rate vs. extrusion or rolling routes
- Patented crystallizer delivers double the speed of standard designs
Target Industries
- Power distribution & switchgear OEMs
- EV and energy storage manufacturers
- Data center infrastructure
- Railway and traction systems
